Why it works
Skepticism is the default state on short-form, where everyone assumes editing lies. A continuous take removes the hiding place, so the brain stops filtering and starts watching for the outcome. That converts doubt into an open question the viewer needs resolved, which is the same tension that holds attention through a magic trick. The unbroken shot also functions as evidence, so persuasion happens automatically as a byproduct of watching, not from being argued at.
Example
A cleaning creator films a single locked-off shot: stained pan, no cut, scrubs for eight seconds, lifts the pan to camera, and the stain is gone. No jump cut between dirty and clean. The whole point of viewing is to confirm the cut never happened, so people rewatch the seam frame by frame, which spikes watch time and replays while the comments argue over whether it was staged.
How to use it
