I paid for SpyTok for 14 months before building ViralVault. Here's exactly what they do better, what we do better, and who should pick each.
What SpyTok does well
SpyTok was the first credible "TikTok intel for creators" tool. Their library is enormous and their team has been at it since 2022. Three things they genuinely do better:
- Library depth. Their backfill covers many more historical videos than ours does at this stage.
- Advertiser intel. If you care about paid creative — what ads are running, who's spending — SpyTok still wins.
- Brand discovery. Their UI for finding which brands are working with which creators is solid.

Who should pick each
Pick SpyTok if: you're an agency primarily focused on paid creative and competitive ad intel, or you need the deepest historical library available.
Pick ViralVault if: you're a solo creator, UGC freelancer, or in-house brand team focused on organic content. The format discovery and hook-writer flow saves more hours per week than ad intel does for our customer base.
Both tools can coexist. About 18% of our Pro users still keep a SpyTok seat for ad-intel work.
